I was born in Tucson, Arizona. Yes it’s a far cry from the big city, but I finally made it to Phoenix, Arizona in 1991. In the meantime, I graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Science in Honors in Biochemistry in 1987. From 1987 to 1998, I worked at the Arizona Cancer Center as a Research Assistant studying different treatments for Cancer patients.
Making no sense to myself at all, I applied and was accepted to law school at Case Western Reserve in Cleveland. So, I went to Ohio. Originally, my aspiration was to become an Environmental Attorney. That was really dry. Then, I decided to become an Intellectual Property Attorney, and was hired by the only Bio-Tech Law Firm in Arizona. That’s when I moved to Phoenix, and quickly realized how uneventful was the practice of Patent Law.
I sat, and I pondered. I remembered that all my extra credits in law school focused around criminal courses such as criminal law and psychiatry. I was even allowed to try several cases as a law student, and remember that the one case I prosecuted and won, I felt really bad about. So, after six months of practicing patent law, I switched to criminal defense work.
I have been practicing criminal defense work since January, 1992. After working for several larger law firms, I opened my practice in 1997. I can honestly say that I am one of the few people I know that really enjoys my work. Oh, don’t get me wrong, it’s very stressful at times, but it’s also very rewarding. We welcome you to our firm, and will strive to be as successful for you as we have been for many of our clients.
